The American Red Cross St. Charles County Service Center will be honoring our volunteers and community partners on March 20
th. After only about four months of working with all the wonderful volunteers here at the Red Cross, I must say that I work with truly remarkable hometown heroes.
Some of these heroes have given countless hours, even years, of their lives to help others. As I get to know the backgrounds of my new-found mentors, I have learned that many of them have been or still are influential leaders in our community. They’re more than willing to share their knowledge and experience to train others how to live a safer and more informed life.
I’m a young volunteer and I have the privilege to learn how to care for my neighbors from these seasoned men and women. They’ve welcomed me with opened arms and the willingness to guide me. Our volunteers have trained both the young and the old, given comfort to the destitute, and so much more. Being a long-time resident of St. Charles County, I would like to say “Thank you” for your unselfish and continual commitment to making our world a better place to live.
