| NASCAR driver Greg Biffle as spokesperson for Red Cross Racing. |
Ladies and Gentleman, start your engines, because the Red Cross has a whole new meaning for the term “blood
drive.”
Okay, Speed Racer. Don’t start your car engine just yet; you’re not going to be doing any driving. I’m talking about your internal engine (ya know, the one that gets your blood pumping). Because it’s that time again for Red Cross Racing!!!!
For the second year in a row, the Red Cross has teamed up with
NASCAR driver and blood donor,
Greg Biffle to bring you
Red Cross Racing, a point-based program that rewards blood donors with exclusive NASCAR racing gear and collectibles in exchange for saving lives.
And did I mention it’s as simple as making a left turn around the racetrack? Log onto
www.redcrossracing.com and register to participate (that’s an easy 50 points right there). Once you’re signed up, donate blood at any
local blood drive, report your donation online, and start tallying your points. Once you’ve collected enough, you can redeem your points online for exclusive NASCAR/Red Cross collectibles like a limited edition die-cast car featuring Biffle’s #16 NASCAR Sprint Cup series American Red Cross paint scheme. You can even get points just for encouraging friends to sign-up and donate blood.
Last year alone, nearly 22,500 blood donations came in through Red Cross Racing, and we know the 75 million passionate NASCAR fans around the country can lap that number during the 2009 season (yes, that was another racing pun, and yes there will be more). Just think if every NASCAR fan donated one unit of blood, nearly 225 million lives could be saved.
Sign up today and show your support for Greg Biffle this season. You might have noticed him this past weekend at the National Sprint Cup Series in Charlotte, N.C. Thanks to a generous donation from 3M, Biffle wore a Red Cross fire suit and drove the No.16 3M Ford Fusion with full Red Cross paint scheme. If you missed it, Greg will be wearing his Red Cross gear again Labor Day weekend in Atlanta.
The Red Cross Racing program runs May 25 through September 11, 2009. So shift yourself into gear and sign up before it’s too late!
