What do you get when you mix 2 princesses, 2 actresses, and a country-singing ballroom dancer? ………Give up? The newest members of the Red Cross National Celebrity Cabinet, of course!

On Thursday, the Red Cross officially welcomed 5 lovely ladies into the National Celebrity Cabinet, a group of celebrity supporters who promote Red Cross services by donating their time, helping neighbors prepare for emergencies, responding to disasters and lending a helping hand to those in need.

Country-singer Julianne Hough, Disney sensation Demi Lovato, Syriana actress Amanda Peet, "Army Wife" Sally Pressman, and Tony-Award winner Anika Noni Rose are proud to join the ranks of Jamie Lee Curtis, Miley Cyrus, Rascal Flatts, and more as 2009 ambassadors for the American Red Cross.

Julianne Hough rose to fame strutting her stuff across the “Dancing with the Stars” ballroom floor and continued her climb by scoring the number one spot on the country charts with her debut album. Julianne is “honored to be a part of the American Red Cross Celebrity Cabinet…[and] its efforts to help others and encourage the American public to become involved with their local Red Cross and make a difference.”

If you don’t know who Demi Lovato is, just ask your children. Co-star of the original Disney films “Camp Rock” and “Princess Protection Program,” Lovato is also an accomplished young recording artist. After her family was affected by a recent tornado, Demi made it her priority to support disaster awareness through the Red Cross Text 2 Help campaign. (Demi supports the Red Cross- to support her, check out her concert in St. Louis next week).

Actress Amanda Peet of “The Whole Nine Yards,” “Syriana,” and “Igby Goes Down” fame is lending her talents to the Red Cross Measles Initiative. As a mom, Peet feels “privileged to support the American Red Cross in their efforts to vaccinate millions of children around the world.”

Already raising awareness through her work is Sally Pressman from the Lifetime hit, “Army Wives.” A graduate of Yale University, Pressman will be supporting the American Red Cross Services to Armed Forces.

And last but certainly not least is Broadway Tony winner and Dreamgirls co-star Anika Noni Rose. Rose is most recently making headlines as the voice behind Disney’s first African-American princess in the upcoming animated feature "The Princess and the Frog."

Welcome to the Red Cross, ladies! We are thrilled to have you. For more information on the National Celebrity Cabinet, visit Redcross.org.
