Okay, I’ll admit it. I am addicted to CW11 shows like One Tree Hill. So I was a little intrigued when I saw previews for the newest addition to the CW11 line-up: The Vampire Diaries. I haven’t jumped on the whole Vampire Bandwagon just yet, so I wasn’t quite sure what to think.

But now I’ll definitely give the show a try since the CW Network, Alloy Media + Marketing and the American Red Cross are joining forces to host blood drives at more than 230 of the country's high schools and colleges. The "Starve a Vampire. Donate Blood." campaign will run for five weeks with a goal to collect more than 3,400 blood donations.

Lucky for us, one drive will stop in our own backyard. St. Louis’s CW affiliate, KPLR Channel 11, Sanford Brown College and the American Red Cross are bringing "Starve a Vampire. Donate Blood." to Fenton on Tuesday, September 8. If you’re thirsting to help save up to three lives, consider scheduling your appointment to donate today!

When you donate, refuel at The Vampire Diaries themed refreshment areas, watch exclusive Vampire Diaries footage, and walk away with special promotional items, including a customized t-shirt.

Can’t make it out on Tuesday, September 8? Don’t worry; there are plenty of opportunities at a location near you. Don’t forget you can always donate blood and learn CPR at an upcoming Community Hero event.

Thanks for your support!

Check out photos from Wednesday's blood-drive kickoff in Atlanta!
