My husband and I lived in University City during the flooding on September 14, 2008. We spent a week at Heman Park when the Red Cross set up shelter for the tenants of University City. I am writing to say how grateful we are and to the young lady who made a special trip to get me a bible. I can’t remember her name, but she knows who she is. I was about to fall apart and needed God’s words after we almost drowned on Sunday morning in our apartment. We especially thank Dan and Lois just for listening and being in good spirits around us. All the Red Cross staff we had contact with went out of their way to give us comfort in a time of despair. When Dan introduced himself, he said he was there to serve us, the tenants of University City. I intend to pass a blessing on to someone else. Continue to pray for our strength.

Thank you,

Charles and Betty Jones
