Have you heard? There’s a new club in town! Club Red is the hip, new group for young professionals in support of the American Red Cross mission. Whether planning social fundraising events or engaging in a community service project and outreach activities, these Red Cross crusaders know how to have fun while supporting the humanitarian mission of the Red Cross.

 

Thanks to a generous donation from Maritz Holdings, Inc., Club Red will be able to educate people on how to be better prepared for disasters and emergencies, as well as help train young professionals in lifesaving First Aid and CPR/AED skills. It typically costs $50 to get trained in lifesaving CPR/AED (Automated External Defibrillator), but on Saturday, June 5, you can get Red Cross-certified in CPR/AED for only $10! Following the training, everyone is invited to stick around for beer, BBQ, networking and a service project to benefit our Emergency Services department. We’ll be washing the Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) and Disaster Action Team (DAT) trucks and learning how these vehicles are used to respond to local and regional disasters. Come to one or both events - whatever fits your schedule!

 

If you're like most people, you don't ever think about needing these lifesaving skills, but if you were in an emergency situation where a family member, friend, neighbor or a complete stranger needed your help, you'll be glad you were trained. Take the time to learn the skills to save a life. If you're already certified; Great! But what about your spouse, your friends, your siblings? Encourage them to get trained for only $10!
