Hooray for the Stars and Stripes, Old Glory, The Star-Spangled Banner, The Red White and Blue- yup! You guessed it; we’re celebrating Flag Day! The yearly observance (since 1949) celebrates the adoption of the U.S. flag back in 1777.
In honor of Flag Day, I put together a photo gallery of Red Cross photos and vintage posters incorporating the American Flag. There is something about times of disaster that seems to bring out the best in the American Spirit.

For me, some of the most memorable images of disaster, recovery and the strength of the Human Spirit are framed by the American Flag. Great Blog Lindsey!
