 It’s official. We have less than a week left before the holidays begin and if you haven’t found your holiday spirit yet –I hate to point out the obvious- but you are running out of time. So whether you have gifts to buy, cookies to bake, or frigid temperatures to brave, I’ve discovered the perfect remedy to accompany any last minute holiday preparations. And as an added bonus- the discovery of your holiday spirit yields a donation to the American Red Cross.
My solution: Download some holiday music! And I’m not just talking about your average Jingle Bells, either. Earlier this month, former American Idol Contestant, Michael Johns released his first single, “Another Christmas” for download on iTunes and Amazon.com. And as if his charming good looks, silky-smooth vocals, and heartfelt lyrics weren’t enough to make you an instant fan, Johns is donating ALL of the proceeds to the American Red Cross and to ALS (or Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Kind of warms your ears and your heart, doesn’t it?
On his blog Johns said, “I believe very strongly in these charities. ALS is a horrible disease that robs you of everything [and] the Red Cross is such an important organization…I know you will all help me in raising as much money and awareness as you can.”
I don’t know about you, but nothing puts me in the holiday spirit quicker than good music and good deeds. I downloaded my copy last week and have been listening to it non stop. I’m even listening to it right now. So what are you waiting for? For 99 cents- which you could probably find in your couch cushions- you can purchase a beautiful holiday song and save lives. That’s the best holiday gift I can think of.

I love Another Christmas as much as you do. I'm from The Philippines. The said song is also available here as a Video-CD. All the proceeds/sales of the said CD will also be donated to a charity for homeless children called bantay bata 163. Such a beautiful song, sung by a beautiful man!

It is great that Michael is donating all the proceeds to charity. I have also bought the song on i-Tunes & been constantly playing it. The song has great sentiments & have a lot of meaning to many of us who are away from extended family at this time !

Thanks so much for helping to promote this song Lindsey! Personally I have never been big into holiday music, but "Another Christmas" really is such a beautiful song with such heartfelt lyrics, a great melody, and Michael's amazing vocals. Of course, it helps that Michael Johns is so generously donating all proceeds to the Red Cross and ALS; it definitely is a worthy gift for friends and family near and far!
