Thanks to the Red Cross and many partner organizations, individuals and families affected by the recent ice storms and snow have a safe place to stay and meals to eat. Over 115 Red Cross volunteers have worked around-the-clock, managing 36 shelters and serving over 3,934 meals and snacks in southeastern Missouri and southern Illinois.
Working in client services at the American Red Cross, I am able to see how the generous donations of the American public can help a family begin recovering after a disaster. From sheltering to providing clothing and food to counseling services, your donations truly make a difference in their lives.
As for the winter ice storm relief effort, the Red Cross continues assessing damage and will help as long as we are needed. Anyone who has been affected and who needs Red Cross assistance can call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
Thank you for your support of the American Red Cross.
