ST. LOUIS (Wednesday, August 14, 2002) – American Red Cross disaster volunteers have responded to a chemical leak at DPC Industries in Festus.
Red Cross volunteers opened a reception center to shelter employees and residents that have been evacuated from nearby homes. Red Cross reception centers provide short-term shelter, snacks and drinks for displaced residents.
Red Cross volunteers also will be providing snacks and drinks for emergency workers working to correct the leak.
All American Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of time and money from the American people.
