St. Louis, MO – May 13, 2003 – The Cardinals will team up with two of the area’s top relief agencies to help raise funds for victims of the recent storms.
Prior to the Saturday, May 17, 1:10 p.m. game against the archrival Chicago Cubs, volunteers from the Salvation Army will collect funds outside stadium gates. Ironically, the Salvation Army band has long been scheduled to play our National Anthem at that game.
Volunteers from the American Red Cross will collect funds prior to the Sunday, May 18, 1:10 p.m. game against the Cubs.
“The Cardinals are pleased to help these two outstanding relief agencies raise money to help the storm victims of our area,” said Cardinals President Mark Lamping. “We hope that the more than 90,000 Cardinals and Cubs fans who will attend these two games will give generously.”
Volunteers from the two agencies will be stationed outside Busch Stadium gates starting at 11:10 a.m. on both dates.
