LOUIS (Wednesday, December 11, 2002)The American Red Cross today announced its health and safety training schedule for South County residents. Following are a list of times and locations of upcoming classes.
First Aid and Adult CPR with AED Training • Friday, January 17 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Sunset Hills Activity Center in South County • Friday, February 21 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Kennedy Recreation Complex in South County.
First Aid and Adult CPR with AED Training is a newly released course, which represents the next generation of CPR and first aid training. It includes the use of community access automated external defibrillators (AED’s), that are recommended as part of Adult CPR training by the Emergency Cardiac Care Committee. First Aid and Adult CPR prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills to recognize and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses including how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest, until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. No prerequisite required. Cost for the 6-½ hour course is $46.
