ST. LOUIS (Tuesday, October 29, 2002) – The American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter today announced the appointment of five new board members. Each newly elected board member will serve a three-year term. New board members include:
• Marianna Deal, senior vice president and senior partner at Fleishman Hillard, Inc., is also a member of the Downtown St. Louis Partnership Board. Deal will chair the marketing & communications committee for Chapter. Marianna resides in the Central West End with her family.
• Barbara Jacob, a local philanthropist, is active in a variety of community organizations including Forest Park Forever, Girl’s Incorporated of St. Louis and Repertory Theatre of St. Louis. Barbara and her husband, John, live in Town & County.
• Ann Liberman, a local philanthropist is active in a variety of community organizations, including Forest Park Forever, March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation of Greater Missouri, and the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute. Ann and her husband, Lee, reside in Ladue.
• Reverend Earl E. Nance Jr., pastor of the Greater Mount Carmel Baptist Church, is the executive director of the St. Louis Clergy Coalition. Reverend Nance serves on the boards for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater St. Louis, Humane Society of Missouri, Matthew Dickey Boys and Girls Club, Missouri Botanical Garden, United Way of Greater St. Louis and the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis. He is also an educational liaison for the City of St. Louis and a member of the St. Louis Gateway Classic Sports Foundation. Reverend Nance resides in the City of St. Louis.
• Louis Maull IV, president of The Louis Maull Company, has been involved with the Red Cross for more than 20 years. Maull is also involved with Civic Entrepreneurs Organization, Fair St. Louis, The PrivateBank of St. Louis and Saint Louis Ambassadors. Lou is a resident of Town & Country.
“Each of these newly appointed board members is truly committed to the St. Louis community,” said Joe White, CEO of the St. Louis Area Chapter. “These individuals have been involved in a variety of community organizations throughout their lives and the St. Louis Area Chapter is honored to have each of them join as leadership for our organization. We are extremely pleased to have this caliber of volunteers as part of the Red Cross family.”

Founded in 1917, the American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter provides emergency and preparedness assistance more than 354,000 times each year. The Red Cross depends on the efforts of 14,700 volunteers and 150 staff to provide a wide range of community support services, including disaster relief, first aid and CPR training, water safety, adult daytime professional care, services to military personnel, assistance to homeless families, and support for blood services. The Chapter provides programs and services to St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles County and Jefferson County in Missouri, as well as Monroe, St. Clair counties and part of Madison County in Illinois.
