FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Illinois (Wednesday, December 04, 2002) – American Red Cross disaster volunteers responded to multiple home fires late last night in the Metro East. Both fires began after 10:00 p.m.
The first fire in Belleville displaced one person. Red Cross volunteers provided shelter for the resident and will be helping with any other immediate needs that arise from the fire. A second fire in Shiloh, affected two families, both of whom stayed with family or friends for the night. The Red Cross has offered additional assistance to the displaced residents.
In addition to helping displaced residents of the fires, Red Cross volunteers also provided drinks and snacks to the emergency responders fighting the fires.
