St. Louis, Thursday, December 8, 2005 – The American Red Cross Jefferson County Service Center in Arnold dispatched a Disaster Action Team to two fires this morning – on Blue Fountain in Festus and on State Road H in De Soto. In both situations, Red Cross volunteers provided assistance on the scene and caseworkers will support all those affected in their recovery effort.
The American Red Cross provides immediate assistance with food, clothing, shelter and other needs in the wake of disasters and emergencies. The Red Cross is able to respond 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provide a vast array of programs and services throughout the region due to the dedication of thousands of volunteers that give freely of their time.
