ST. LOUIS (Monday, June 10, 2002) – Marc Carmichael, JD, president of the Chicago-based R&R Newkirk Company, will speak on how charitable giving can provide better living during a planned giving seminar on Thursday, June 27 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza. A $50.00 tax-deductible donation to the American Red Cross will help defray the cost of this seminar. Carmichael is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Law and a member of the Indiana State Bar Association. He serves on the board of directors of the Chicago Planned Giving Council and was the 1998 President of the National Committee on Planned Giving. He has spoken at state bar association meetings and the National Conference on Financial Planning. Carmichael’s company, R&R Newkirk, publishes a variety of planned giving tools, including Charitable Tax Service, a four volume reference library on planned giving and charitable estate planning; The Advisor, a charitable estate planning newsletter; and the Federal Tax Pocket Guide for Advisors and Planners.
About the American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter
Founded in 1917, the American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter provides emergency and preparedness assistance to more than 354,000 St. Louis-area residents each year. The Red Cross depends on the efforts of 14,700 volunteers and 150 staff to provide a wide range of community support services, including disaster relief, first aid and CPR training, water safety, adult daytime professional care, services to military personnel, assistance to homeless families, and support for blood services.
