Back St. Louis, Friday, December 23, 2005 – The American Red Cross Metro East Service Center in Fairview Heights, IL dispatched a Disaster Action Team to a house fire in the 700-block of N. 76th Street in East St. Louis this morning, providing support in the recovery effort of four individuals and assistance to emergency personnel on the scene. The American Red Cross provides immediate assistance with food, clothing, shelter and other needs in the wake of disasters and emergencies.  The Red Cross is able to respond 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provide a vast array of programs and services throughout the region due to the dedication of thousands of volunteers that give freely of their time.
