 Media Advisory WHAT: The American Red Cross Jefferson County Service Center will host its annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon to honor local volunteers for their service to the organization and the community. The following awards will be presented at the Volunteer Luncheon:
• Jefferson County Business Partner of the Year Award – acknowledges outstanding support for all Red Cross programs and services by a Jefferson County business over the previous year. • Jefferson County Honorary Service Award – in recognition of more than 100 hours of volunteer service over the previous year. • Jefferson County Volunteer of the Year Award – honors the volunteer with the single most profound impact on Red Cross programs and services over the previous year.
WHEN: Friday, July 21, 2006 – 11:30 a.m. WHERE: Berkshire Grill – 1630 Gravois Road –High Ridge, MO WHY: The American Red Cross is an organization led by the service of its volunteers. Last year, because of the dedication of thousands of volunteers throughout the metropolitan area, the St. Louis Area Chapter was able to touch the community more than 407,000 times.
The annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon is a unique opportunity to focus on the impact that local Red Cross volunteers have on the Jefferson County region, while honoring these citizens for giving freely of their time and energy. About the American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter: Founded in 1917, the American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter provides emergency and preparedness assistance more than 407,000 times each year.
