
Emergency shelters open in St. Louis City; St. Louis County; Belleville, IL; Arnold, MO and Farmington, MO
St. Louis, Saturday, December 2, 2006 - The American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter sheltered 287 people in five emergency shelters overnight and served 776 meals and snacks to shelter guests. All five shelters remain open
24-hours
to provide safe refuge from the cold temperatures for those who have lost power.
At each of these facilities, the Red Cross is providing assistance for emergency needs that includes shelter, food and health services. As assessment continues, additional shelters will be opened if the need arises. Red Cross emergency shelters are now open at the following locations:
