
Volunteer luncheon to recognize local residents for dedicated service
WHAT: The St. Charles County Service Center of the American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter will sponsor its annual Volunteer Luncheon to honor local volunteers and community partners for their service to the organization and community. Louis T. Maull IV, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the St. Louis Area Chapter, will emcee the event. Vivian Luce, Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors and David A. Chumley, CEO of the Missouri-Illinois Blood Services Region, will provide the keynote address. Heather Honeycutt, Chair of Volunteers, will introduce award recipients while Joanne Buttice, Director of Volunteer Resources, will present individuals with their awards.

WHY: The American Red Cross is an organization led by the dedicated service of its volunteers. The annual Volunteer Luncheon in St. Charles County is a unique opportunity for the public to see how more than 200 Red Cross volunteers impact the St. Charles community through active involvement in Red Cross services. Throughout the metropolitan area, thousands of volunteers assist, and there are many opportunities for individuals to get involved.
The following awards (listed with the criteria for each honor) will be presented at the Volunteer Luncheon:

Blood Services Award - presented to a volunteer who exemplifies a commitment to strengthen or improve our local blood supply through their dedicated efforts.

Community Cares Award - presented to an individual, group or organization that has improved Health and Safety and Community Disaster Education practices.

Community Disaster Education Award - presented to a volunteer who has made a significant impact in the community by educating the public regarding emergency preparedness.

Disaster Services Award - presented to a Disaster Volunteer who has responded to the immediate needs of disaster victims to help them recover as quickly as possible.

Good Neighbor Award - presented to an individual, group or organization for partnering with the Red Cross to provide services.

Health and Safety Award - presented to a volunteer who prepares others to save lives through CPR, First Aid and AED instruction.

Honorary Service Award - presented in recognition of continued outstanding volunteer commitment.

Humanitarian Service Award - presented to an individual who responds to emergencies and provides caring assistance and skilled expertise whenever called upon.

Lifetime Achievement Award - presented to a volunteer for outstanding Red Cross service lasting more than 20 years.

New Outstanding Volunteer Award - presented to individuals who have been with the Red Cross for less than one year and have strengthened and improved services.

Partners in Caring Award - presented in recognition of extraordinary cooperative working relationships within the community.

Volunteer of the Year Award - presented to the volunteer who has had the most profound impact on the St. Charles County Service Center and Red Cross programs and services.
