 St. Louis Area Chapter workers will support ongoing Red Cross relief effort St. Louis, Thursday, December 13, 2007 – In response to widespread power outages resulting from a severe winter storm in St. Joseph, Missouri, the American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter deployed six local disaster relief workers to support the ongoing Red Cross recovery effort. The local relief workers have accepted deployments that may last as long as two weeks and will specialize in disaster assessment, logistics, sheltering and staffing. There are currently 48 American Red Cross shelters open in the state of Missouri to provide assistance for emergency needs.
