Iraq Response Operations
Now that the conflict is underway, the American Red Cross will implement emergency relief activities in Iraq in full coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross (which is the lead agency for the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in all conflict situations), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and other National Societies (such as the Iraqi Red Crescent Society and the British Red Cross). |

American Red Cross Honors Local Heroes for Saving Lives
The American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter honored 29 local individuals who saved a life in 2002. The local heroes were recognized on April 10 at the annual Lifesaver Celebration held at the Missouri Botanical Garden. Since 1984, the American Red Cross Lifesaver Program has honored more than 150 local citizens who have used First Aid, CPR, or other actions to save a life. |
